I called my ever so patient and wonderful parents on Thursday to drive me to the airport the following morning at 4:30am ... and they graciously agreed. I took a flight to ORD and then PDX, to spend 11 hours in my future home -- Portland, Oregon. I spent the day walking, at Powell's Books, walking, Stumptown Coffee, walking, at the Wilamette River, and walking (note to self: boots were a bad idea). I didn't get to see much other than the city before the sun started to set, but I do know what Portland's all about: Books, Bikes, and Beer. Thanks, mom and dad!

Books, Bikes, and Beer
I called my ever so patient and wonderful parents on Thursday to drive me to the airport the following morning at 4:30am ... and they graciously agreed. I took a flight to ORD and then PDX, to spend 11 hours in my future home -- Portland, Oregon.
